Phase 2 of the 2017/2018 professional development program for Applied Maths will take place in various venues in February  2018.

Irish Title for Patrician Secondary School at the IAMTA Junior Problem Solving Finals.

Patrician Secondary School, Newbridge, Co. Kildare were worthy winners of the IAMTA  Irish Junior Problem Solving competition held in Laois Education Centre on the 12th March 2016.  Amidst great excitement the Kildare School were crowed champions and presented with the PDST perpetual trophy by Pat Lynch from the Professional Development Service for Teachers.  It was a close and exciting battle on the day between the eleven school teams who had qualified for the Laois finals via regional events held in January.   As expected  the standard was extremely high, but two teams, one from from Patrician Secondary School and the other from Castleknock College, were inseparable from rounds 2 to round 8 before the Patrician team of Elliot Nolan, Conor King, Colin Smyth and Peter Dobey secured the title by a mere 2 points after nine intense rounds of problem solving.
