PDST LITERACY CONFERENCE 2015 - UNLOCKING THE DOOR TO LEARNING

JCSP - CRITICAL THINKING IN THE ON-LINE CONTEXT 
 
 

This workshop examines how to support students to develop critical thinking skills through on-line research.

 

PRESENTER BIOGRAPHIES

 

 

Gráinne Dennison is a post-primary teacher on secondment to the PDST, since 2011, from Desmond College, Newcastlewest, Co. Limerick. She has  taught Home Economics, Religion, CSPE and SPHE  and ensured  inclusive teaching and learning through the provision of learning support.  As an advisor with the PDST, Gráinne supports schools in focusing on the improvement of teaching and learning across the curriculum, through literacy, school self-evaluation, DEIS and JCSP programme supports.
 
 
 
Denise O'Flanagan is on secondment from Firhouse Community College, Tallaght where she taught Maths, English and Drama and co-ordinated the JCSP. She has had a long-term interest in student access to curriculum supported by whole-school approaches to literacy and numeracy development and Assessment for Learning. Denise is currently engaged in an M. Sc. in Digital Education. As an advisor with the PDST, Denise supports schools in numeracy and literacy planning, implementing cross-curricular initiatives in literacy, numeracy and across the arts and to integrate digital literacy skills into teaching and learning.
